Last Friday, we had Sun Club Inauguration in our college. Principal was expected to inaugurate it but unfortunately he was not able to make his presence there. We also invited all the Deans and HODs, students of all departments. The function took place at K.M.Auditorium of our college. There were around 400 students. The HOD of our department Mr.Rajaram spoke about various companies that have collaboration with our college. Then the HOD of IT department spoke on his experiences in the computer world. Next was the presentation on Sun Club by my ambi(keerthi). She was listing various activities that will be performed in Sun Club. She was speaking on some certification courses and about the cool products(Open Solaris,Netbean and Java) from Sun. A mailing list for Sun club has also been created. So people can subscribe to Sun club here.At the end of the inauguration many students registered in Sun Club. The Staff co-ordinators of Sun Club Mrs.Subathra and Mr.Emil selvan took good initiatives and they helped us a lot.

A trip to tvl

Posted: February 11, 2007 in Myself

Last weekend I went to keerthi’s house at Thirunelveli.. I satisfied her long time wish last week. I have never been to tvl. This was the first time.

She hails at paatapathu agraharam. I have never seen an agraharam. It was an different experience for me. People live in join family there. The children from those families will come to know the family problems easily and get accommodated to that. They can also share things with everyone and have fun. Its where we come to know about the relationships.

Then we went to nellaiappar temple and had good dharisana. That is a good old temple which has lack of maintenance and hence didn’t get much fame as Meenakshi amman temple. Its even bigger than meenakshi amman temple and has its own importance.

I really felt happy in their home. Everyone treated me as one of their family members and cared me a lot. I am very thankful to them.

The next day we went to then thiruppathi an got good dharisana from lord balaji. That was really a different place. We then roamed around tvl and had fun.

That was thus a good experience in her place and can never forget this trip in my life. This is one of the most memorable events in my life.

Hello folks meeting u after a long time. A few weeks back , my friend keerthi-the ambassador(I call her ambi) from Sun Microsystems to our college started her Ambassador initiative program with the second year and first year students of CSE and IT department of our college. We friends agals, bala, ashok, ananth and myself were helping her in this. During this session an introduction to the company Sun MicroSystems was given and then the cool products of Sun like OpenSolaris , Java and Netbeans were given. Even we ppl didn’t have much knowledge in the areas like Solaris and Netbeans. The audiences were the first and second year students among which most first years don’t know what is an operating system. Even though the presentation was simple enough it was too hard to reach them. Then something about the certification courses from Sun and about the mailing list(ug-madosug@opensolaris.org-Madurai Open Solaris User Group]) were told.

Bala was giving a demo on Dtrace and Belenix to the students.

Finally we had a chance of interacting with all the students individually. They felt that they were new to these technologies and they wanted to know it from scratch. They are mailing and asking when the sun club will formed and they are eager to join it. I don’t know whether this interest will last for long time.

So as soon as possible a mailing list for sun club has to be created and the Sun club Inauguration has to be done soon. We are planning to host an site for Sun club based on the response.I like to be a part of this club and help my keerthi in her job.I have got an good opportunity to know all these technologies through this.

We have prepared a road plan of this program and hope that will end up in success.
